I had a difficult case.
Perfectly healthy female wanted health insurance. No pre-existing conditions. No genetic disorders. Perfect.
She was declined because she's in the process of adopting a child from overseas.
From what I understand, the agency helping her didn't mentioned that in California, health insurance companies will decline you for that.
Why? Because you could be bringing in the sickest child in the world, and they'd be force to pay for the little one's healthcare.
Not fair, I agree. But that's the law.
I don't know about other states, but I'm researching it now.
