The Off-season: NOT the time to drop your Health Insurance

Sometimes, I'm asked to cancel policies now that the "Season" is over.

Really? It's over? No summer touch? Summer 7s?

Plus, will you be working out? Going to work? Being generally alive?

Canceling insurance plans is bad. It throws up a red flag on your record (MIB, or the history you have with Company XYZ), possibly preventing you from purchasing again.

If you do cancel, do so in writing. If you lapse for non-payment of premium, chances are, that company won't pick you back up unless you pay UP all the months you missed.

Keep your Health plan in the Off-season. Just in case a Prop falls on you, in the Pub.
