Auto vs. Health Insurance claims

The Northern and Southern Hemispheres differ in style of play. However, the basics of position, possession and pace still hold. (Thank you Naif!)

So, I've been researching the differences between health insurance claims and auto insurance claims. The Basics still hold:

1. Document, document, document: Keep copies of everything, keep a communication file, etc. etc.

2. Find one person, and keep talking to them: This is my favorite. "How are you? What's your name?" "Bob." Conversation continues. At the End, "Bob, how do I recontact you? Do you have a direct line or extension? How about an email addy?" Get Bob on your side. Don't yell at Bob. Righteous Indignation gets you jack shit.

3. Get the agent/broker involved. If they don't offer help, drop them. I make my money when I help you file claims, get your bills paid, etc. etc. This is why I can stay exclusive to Rugby players and still eat and pay rent.

Now, here are some interesting differences:

1. Auto Insurance Companies can penalize you for filing a bad claim. Not only do they not pay, they penalize you. I didn't know this, but I'm researching further.

2. Claims = Rate Increases: You file a claim, your rate increases. Not true for INDIVIDUAL health insurance, but they can increase rates to everybody. Auto can ping you personally!

3. Non-renewal: An Auto Insurance company can choose not to renew you. HI companies can't.
