Paperwork...Heck, most Ruggers can't even Read!!!

The amount of paperwork you'll receive after hitting an ER is astounding.

Keep everything.

Sucks, I know. You didn't sign up for this, but you got hurt, and it required a doctor to poke, prod, stitch, cut, whatever.

So here's a trick:

1. Get a copy of your insurance companies claim form. Fill out the generic info regarding you, name, addy, plan name, plan number, group number, etc. etc.
2. Make 25 copies of that.
3. Every time you get a piece of paper from a medical provider, make a copy of it.
4. Fill out one of the claim forms you created with the info relevant to the medical provider.
5. Send the claim form, and the copy of the medical provider bill to your insurance company.

Sometimes, bills fall through the cracks, or the medical provider bills you first, or a 1,325 other possibilities.

This way, both you and your insurance company has the exact same pile of paper. If you have to get on the phone, you'll be able to reference which bill with whatever is presented on the EOB (Explanation of Benefits).

[The EOB tells you what and how much the insurance company paid. Also, includes the most detail info about your plans limits.]

Call if you need a hand.
