About 5 times a week, someone drops by my team's website to request to play Rugby. We send them with welcoming emails, list upcoming events, ask if they have any questions, and hope they show up. Most do. Even fewer stick around. That's the nature of the Game.
I noticed that's not the case with Health Care and Health Insurance in the US. Everything is geared for some Agent to assault you with phone calls, and asking for your Credit Card and DOB.
Damn, that's annoying. I'm building an info database for CA Residents, and my parent Insurance Cos still want to do business as usual. Get the phone number, get the appointment, and close.
That won't work for Rugby players...and it's a quick was to get a "Fuck Off."
However, a few are changing. Blue Shield of CA has a Probable Action form now for prospective insureds. Worried about a Pre-existing condition, and don't want a decline on your MIB, boom done.
On top of that, they send you any amount of pdfs explaining their plans and their processes.
Can you play Rugby? Yes.
Can you get Health Insurance? Well, let's find out.
