Health Insurance and Last Minute Refs

Ever woke up Saturday morning and realized that you need ref for the match at 1pm? Sucks finding a ref in a few hours.

Typically, a ref is found, and the game happens, and not much comes of it...

Ever woke up one morning with an injury of illness, and realized that you need Health insurance...

Well, a few hours won't matter, because you're basically screwed.

Health insurance takes time to get. Applications go to under-writing, where info is gathered from Attending Physicians, and decisions are made based on MIBs and other fun sources. This could take MONTHS to process.

Meanwhile, you've got nothing.

Every week, I get at least one call on Friday asking for a Health Insurance plan to be put in place for a Saturday match. I usually tell that person that they can't do that, Temporary Health Insurance won't cover organized sports, and that they should've handled this MONTHS ago.

Getting a ref morning of, and getting insurance the day before, a match...NOT THE SAME.
