What if I can't get Health Insurance?

Over the next few weeks, I'm gonna explain how to get Health Insurance despite a pre-existing condition.

First off, if you have a family, carve them out. Get a policy for all the healthy people, then worry about you. No point in throwing a buddy pass to your kids. Remember, Insurance companies are actively marketing to the Rugby Age Bracket.

Next, get a copy of your Medical Information Bureau (MIB) file. Each state has different requirements. You'll need to write a letter, and possibly pay a small fee.

Finally, Locate a competent agent, (like ME) who knows which carriers may accept your pre-existing condition. Again, state to state, different rules. This is just like "touch." Every club in America plays touch in a uniquely stupid way.

Any decent agent will know how to prepare your app. If not, I'll take you through the process in tomorrow's post.
