Props are not shaped like wingers. A Lock doesn't look like a Fly Half.
Though the modern game requires players to have multiple skills, specific positions require specific body types.
Why doesn't Health Insurance do this?
I've chalk talked the reasons why Healthcare is screwed up. Here's the problem with Health Insurance.
HI is a "bundled product." The idiots pay for headcolds, ACL surgery, and cancer. Each of these cash flow differently. Just like Props play a different game than Wingers.
Headcolds need a copay, or small office visit fee. ACL surgery is $10,000 to $20,000. This is where your deductible and out-of-pocket max get used up. Cancer...well, costs a lot of money.
HI Companies don't mind the ACLs. Really. That's because your picking up a large portion of the bill. Example: Your deductible is a $1,000 and you have an OOP Max of $5,000. If your surgery costs a total of $10,000, your out of pocket total will be $3,700. And they'll delay payment, and probably short the Hospital a bit. If your surgery is $20,000, your out $5,000...at least.
If you have a chronic condition, or something like cancer, your HI company could be out hundreds of thousands. If you own your own insurance, you'll be okay. If you have employer health, more than likely, you'll lose your job, then lose your benefits (or use up COBRA), and you'll still have this awful condition. Remember, 1/2 of bankruptcies are due to unpaid medical bills, and more than 1/2 of those individuals had employer sponsored health insurance.
What to do?
1. Kick to touch your Employer Health Plan.
2. Buy a catastrophic health insurance policy, preferably HSA qualified.
3. Buy a Accident Medical Plan.
4. Buy a discount card for office visits and preventative care.
Yes, Props sometimes camp out on the Wing. Typically, nothing good comes from it.
