To Workers Comp, or Not to Workers Comp

Mom, Pop and Son run a family business.  They don't want to carry Workers Comp since they only employee is the kid, and he'll never sue his parents... really?

So, if he's hurt on the job, and out for 6 months, can the business afford to pay the Son while paying the guy who replaces the Son? 

That's like keeping an injured player on the reserve list, even though they can't play.  I can't think of a Rugby coach in the World that would do that...

Even if it's your kid, get the WC.  Transfer the risk, and be done with it...
